John, Could you separate two tasks so that we can see where the problem is, please?
a) Could you take a note how much memory it takes just to open original drawing with images? b) Unload images c) Open drawing with unloaded images in fresh session and see how much more memory is needed to create this contour map.
I am trying to figure a culprit between two.
Also: are you reducing contours when drawing contour map? This culd be a ticket.

ReplyDeleteTried it again after a reboot and it worked.
ICAD swells up to about 2.6 GB of RAM usage during the process and is now dow to 1.5GB which is a lot.

ReplyDeleteJust how large is this image (in file size and in number of pixels)? and do you have lots of contours being created?

ReplyDeleteThe drawing references 4 aerial photos that are each 6000 x 6000 pixels (140 MB Tiff Files).
The grid file is 230 MB -- 2 ft x 2 ft grid generated from LIDAR Data.
The contours are at 2 ft vertical elevation from El 950 up to El 2100. So yes there are a lot of contours.
The DWG file swells from about 12 MB up to 36 MB with the contours added.
