In running Carlson Survey w/IntelliCAD 7.1 we have now had 2 instances where when we had 2 drawings files open at the same time one of the files has gotten overwritten with the other. We end up with two of the same files in different project directories and one file is of course lost!
Similar issue was reported while back and even though other issues surrounding it have been isolated and fixed, this one was never successfully repeated to my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteCould you please let me know your build (Help->About Carlson) and any steps you can think of to repeating this problem?
When did overwrite happened - on exit or on autosave?
Your assistance in solving this would be greatly appreciated.
Leonid, It happened on two different pc's both were running Carlson Survey 2012 W/ IntelliCAD imbedded 7.1. Both times we had two drawings opened and both times it happened when we saved on exiting the drawings, and yes it did ask for a save on ecah drawing showing the proper names. Since then we have both systems updated to your most current BETA version and we just applied the new patch which came out yesterday.
DeleteSorry I believe the build was the one prior to 120215, we are now running 120219.
DeleteI was wrong about us never being able to repeat this before. However it was only repeated under low memory conditions and this has been long fixed (early January).
DeleteSo if your build was not older than couple of weeks, then we still have the problem.
Was there any indication that IntelliCAD was low on memory? Did it give any errors? Was the same content saved to two places or did the overwriting file destroy contents of another, but did not save to it's own file?
Thank you!
The overwrite destroyed the one file but it also wrote to the original file as well. I do not recall any memory errors, we are running both on new pcs,one on a desktop the other on a laptop. The desktop is windows 7, 64 bit intel core i7 3.4 ghz with 8GB ram. The laptop is a HP Pavillion G7 with i7 2.2 ghz with 4GB ram.
DeleteCould you elaborate on how old was the previous build, please? Week old, or over a month old?
